Summer is a distant memory, but one autumn season favourite is back: candles! More specifically, Anthropologie candles, which are quickly becoming a fast favourite for any chic home. The wide-ranging collection has something for everyone’s tastes, from light to heavy perfume scents. They also come with a wide range of price tags, which leads to a lot of speculation online about which ones are worth splurging on. This is why we’ve done our research on the best UK Anthropology candles and rounded the up best ones! From their famous angel cake candle to rich winter scents – we got you!
TOP-RATED CANDLE: CAPRI BLUE VOLCANO JAR CANDLE
Coming in three colours the line is arguably the most playful of the Anthropologie range, and buyer reviews say ‘it’s the best Anthropologie candle they have ever used’. It is also vegan, which not all of their candles are, which is good to know.
Anthropologie suggests if you’re about to burn a brand-new candle, allow it to burn until the wax pool melts all the way to the edge. This is because the wax has ‘memory,’ so if it is extinguished with a partial pool, that will prevent a full, even pool from forming in the future. And yes, I’m low-key going to use the trick with every candle now.
CITY GETAWAY CANDLE: BOHEME RANGE
Coming in five muted colours we are here for this one. It was also voted five stars on the Anthropology UK site. The five colour options describe five cities, aiming to transport you to your desired location without evening leaving your bedroom. The burn time is 50 hours, so we are thinking a full work from home week, a great way to escape. Here are is the breakdown:
Asti Top: white muscat grape, green apple, Middle: purple grape, jasmine, Base: oak, vetiver, musk
Istanbul Top: cardamom, ginger, bergamot, cassis, Middle: Turkish rose, iris, Base: cedarwood, amber, saffron

SUNDAY SOAK CANDLE: CLEO’S PARADISE
We really like the idea of this one. A candle to remind you it’s Sunday, in case the sinking feeling in your stomach did not already. Jokes aside, this candle burns for 35 hours and is a nice one to wind down to, with scents of honeycomb and creamy vanilla.
BOULANGERIE RANGE
This is one of Anthropologie’s most sought-after candle range and the reviews on Anthropologie’s UK site voted this candle as a solid 4.8* out of 5.
These are the most affordable of Anthropologie’s range, costing £16. Although the scents such as Pumpkin Soufflé sound everything but natural their site boasts of food-grade ingredients like coconut wax and essential oils which is always good to hear.
There are several scents to choose from:
Vanilla & Fig: a perfect blend of lush vanilla, orchid petals, figwood and black mission figs
Angel Food: sweet vanilla, butter and caramel combine to create this decadent mixture
Espresso: fresh coffee beans infused with almond milk, dark cacao and patchouli
Whipped Cream & Pear: a decadent infusion of warm vanilla, fresh pear, whipping cream and a hint of apple peel
Sweet Vanilla & Cinnamon: a comforting blend of nutmeg, vanilla bean and cinnamon crust
Pumpkin Souffle: freshly grated nutmeg and warm pumpkin, combined with rich maple syrup, ginger and sweet vanilla
Oatmeal Cookie: stone-ground oats and crushed almonds sweetened with honey butter, sugared maple, cinnamon spice and vanilla.
APOTHECARY 18 GLASS JAR CANDLE
If you are looking for a perfume-inspired Anthropologie candle then this range is for you.
Lily Davana: Sweet, tea-like white florals and aged hickory meld with whispers of warm oud, resinous frankincense, and tonka-infused vetiver. (WOODSY)
Osmanthus Suede: Fruity and velvety osmanthus meld with white cedar, teak, and soft birch fused with ambered suede, golden cashmere, and creamy sandalwood. (SPICE)
Violet Leaf Oud: A smooth medley of patchouli-kissed woods, black plum, sugared dates, and tender violet is wrapped in soft notes of cashmere, ambered oakmoss, and powdery tonka. (WOODSY)
Out of all three Violet Leaf Oud has been voted the most luxurious and richest scent. We would suggest keeping this one for the late autumn and winter months. This range is our steady favourite, especially for the bedroom.

HOW TO REUSE ANTHROPOLOGIE CANDLES?
Ever wonder what to do with old Anthropologie candles. Sometimes you want to reuse your beautiful jars / pots the candles come in. This may be a fun hack to do if you are stuck in isolation. Here is how you do it:
- Preheat oven to mid- warm setting
The plan is to copy the pouring temperature of wax. Different waxes have different pouring temperatures, so once you feel it is at a suitable texture and you are able to pour it.
- Once warm, place candle in the middle rack of your oven and allow it to sit for about 30 minutes
- After thirty minutes or so and the wax has melted , remove jar from oven
- Now it’s time to pour. Place your metal wick holder in the centre of your jar and go ahead!
ARE ANTHROPOLOGIE CANDLES VEGAN?
Not all their candles are vegan no. The ‘Lovely Goods’ range is however. With natural soy wax and a eco-cotton wick. The natural and vegan range has five option from Old Library to Sunday Morning.
