Mike Tyson once squared up to kickboxer Bob Sapp and the two men could still actually face each other in a boxing fight in the future.
Tyson, one of the most feared heavyweights in the history of boxing, came out of retirement last year to face Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition fight.
The 55-year-old has constantly been linked with more fights since, with a third fight against Evander Holyfield and a rematch with Lennox Lewis both previously talked about.
One fight that won’t go away is one against YouTuber Logan Paul, with the social media star having previously fought Floyd Mayweather this year.
Whilst Paul reckons he would ‘beat up’ Iron Mike, and his brother Jake claimed he’s been tested more than Tyson, there is another fight potentially on the table.
Tyson could yet fight former kickboxer Bob Sapp, with the two having previously been face to face inside of a ring in 2003, after Sapp had just beaten Kimo Leopoldo.
The boxer got in the ring following the fight, only for the 326 lbs kickboxer to head straight towards him to meet him and even made contact with his glove, to Tyson’s face.
After being separated by a huge amount of people in the ring, the former world heavyweight boxing champion said he was ready to face ‘the beast’ right there if it was Queensberry rules.
Of course the fight didn’t take play 18 years ago, but it nearly did last year, with the former professional wrestler, who worked for New Japan Pro Wrestling, the original opponent for the former boxer last year.
Tyson revealed that it was an offer from Sapp that caused him to look into an exhibition, which was eventually against Jones Jr.
“My brother-in-law said: ‘Listen, I know you don’t wanna fight, but would you fight Bob Sapp? Somebody wants to offer you a lot of money to fight Bob Sapp.’
“I said, ‘get outta here, I told people I don’t fight no more.’
“Then my mind went ‘ding! – What are the actual rules they want to fight under? Will they box me under the Marquis of Queensberry?’
“They said yes and I said, yes I’ll fight him.”
Surely everyone would rather see that than another Logan Paul fight.
